Periyar World is an expansive and immersive tribute to the life and ideals of E.V. Ramasamy Periyar, a pioneering social reformer and champion of rationalism, equality, and social justice. Spanning 27 acres in Siruganur, just 25 kilometres from Trichy along the Chennai-Trichy National Highway, Periyar World serves as a dynamic center for learning, inspiration, and activism.
At its heart stands an imposing 95-foot statue on a 60-foot base, rising to a total height of 155 feet from ground level. This monumental structure is not just an architectural marvel but a powerful symbol of Thanthai Periyar's legacy—an enduring reminder of his fight for a more just and equitable society.
Periyar World offers a rich variety of engaging experiences, including a state-of-the-art library, a museum showcasing Thanthai Periyar's life and work, and an amphitheatre for cultural performances and community events. The art gallery displays contemporary works inspired by Thanthai Periyar's teachings, while the Justice Park and engraved donor's wall honour those who continue to support the cause.
